Robert Martinez, a Colorado native, was born and raised in the San Luis Valley.  After completing his high school education, he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Adams State College located in Alamosa.  Bob recently retired from an enjoyable career of teaching elementary school art.  He and his wife Janice, have three children and seven grandchildren.

His paintings are both contemporary and traditional. He is inspired by the artists Malcolm Furlow, John Nieto, and Fritz Shrolder to name a few. Bob enjoys working with bold colors, and a variety of subjects from Native American to modern.
